Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager IV to lead projects for utility clients. The PM would manage execution, including project and construction management to individual projects, other support activities, and generally provide oversight and governance, including oversight of the engineering, design, and construction work, including undergrounding.

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Strong working knowledge of power grid, transmission and distribution industry (T&D) and electric utilities in California and other western states.

  • Strong working knowledge with design and construction of new and upgrade of power T&D facilities including existing transmission lines, substations, distribution lines with medium and high voltage, and undergrounding

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration and leadership and result oriented with ability to communicate and coordinate project goals with high and medium voltage groups

  • Experience working with a diverse team of professionals including, but not limited to: project managers, construction managers, project controls professionals, estimating, public outreach, procurement professionals, environmental professionals, consultants, owners engineering, safety professionals, risk management etc.

  • Proven experience managing large, complex projects in multiple locations

  • Experience and recognition as a technical expert in their field

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate expectations and requirements with both clients and team members

  • An ability to apply acquired expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges and provide coaching to peers and team members

  • A track record of leveraging relationships to expand work with existing clients, identify new clients and recruit and retain in-house staff

AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical or Civil Engineering or closely related field.

  • 6+ Years of Relevant Experience, including management of infrastructure projects including electrical distribution and/or distributed energy resources

  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects and/or programs with high quality on schedule and within scope and budget

  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 10+ Years of Relevant Experience

  • Project and client management experience including management of multiple projects of significant scope and complexity

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Master’s degree in technical or business discipline

  • Experience with regional and national utilities, independent system operators (ISOs) and regulatory agencies

  • Experience with various national and local standards used in the electrical utility industry, such as IEEE, NERC, ASCE, etc.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $106,800.34 - $171,809.24.
