We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Senior Principal Technical Services Project Management Specialist based out of San Diego, California .

What you'll get to do:

Oversee the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between program management, production, planning, procurement, supply chain, quality, supplier quality, project team, and line management. Manage the performance, budget, and schedule of the assigned control account, ensure proper execution of the work, and report progress to Program Management. Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress, intervention and problem solving with Project Managers, Line Managers, and Program Management. ​

This role may be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal level, depending on experience.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Technical Services Project Management Specialist:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in project management, supply chain, engineering or business OR in lieu of a degree, 9 or more years of related professional/military experience in project management, supply chain, engineering or business that includes a background in project management may be considered.

  • Experience with Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionally.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications to include advanced skills using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Strong Excel skills to include utilization of Pivot Tables. MS Access skills are a plus.

  • Ability to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)

  • MRP Experience

  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

  • Able to obtain and maintain DOD clearance

  • US Citizenship

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in project management, supply chain, engineering or business OR in lieu of a degree, 12 or more years of related professional/military experience in project management, supply chain, engineering or business that includes a background in project management may be considered.

  • Experience with Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionally.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications to include advanced skills using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Strong Excel skills to include utilization of Pivot Tables. MS Access skills are a plus.

  • Ability to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)

  • MRP Experience

  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

  • Able to obtain and maintain DOD clearance

  • US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • Current/Active Security Clearance

  • Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.

  • Manufacturing and/or Engineering experience.

  • Experience in Defense/Aerospace Industry.

  • Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Gathering, manipulating, and processing raw data at scale. Interpreting data provided by SAP, PDM and MES Systems.

  • Able to read engineering documentation, BOM Structures, and PLM tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills to senior leadership.

  • Understanding of Operations processes including production, procurement, supplier management, material management and release, planning, quality processes, and work order management.

  • Demonstrated Process Improvement skills/abilities.

  • SharePoint experience.

  • Familiarity with JIRA and Tableau

Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900

Salary Range 2: $133,000 - $199,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
