Robert Half is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a growing organization in San Diego, CA. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your payroll expertise in a collaborative and fast-paced work environment while contributing to an organization’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Manage employee payroll data, including additions, deductions, and adjustments.

• Stay up to date with wage laws and tax regulations and ensure payroll policies comply with current laws.

• Administer garnishments, deductions, and benefits withholdings accurately.

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, taxes, and benefits in a professional and timely manner.

• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and ensure accuracy of reporting.

• Generate and submit payroll-related reports, including tax filings, W-2 forms, and unemployment claims.

• Assist with audits and provide documentation as required by management or governmental bodies.

  Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or payroll administration is required.

• Proficiency in payroll systems like ADP, Paycom, Workday, or similar platforms.

• Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

• Attention to detail, strong mathematical skills, and an analytical mindset.

• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups) are an advantage.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive employee data discreetly and professionally.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential is a plus.
