LMI Aerospace Network and Computer Systems Administrator in San Diego, California

Position Description

Directly support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) In-Service Support Center (ISSC) at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California. Duties will include:

  • Perform routine quarterly STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) compliance review, testing and implementation as directed. Perform routine Administration for Windows Active Directory Environment, troubleshoot, and implement Group Policy Objects as directed. Complete DISA STIG checklist for the systems and write and maintain POA&Ms as required.

  • Assist current IT staff in continuous monitoring, Daily ACAS scans and SCAP scanning, implementation and troubleshooting of required weekly patch compliance for all client and server devices in the lab utilizing SCCM server; ensuring all servers and workstations are patch compliant for security vulnerabilities. Maintain configuration and security posture of information systems through continuous monitoring and routine security events/reporting like VRAM and MDE.

  • Provide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best-practices.

  • Maintain documentation to include knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.

  • Secure information systems and applications to current DoD guidance.

  • Manage WSUS and IIS.

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems (windows environment).

  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, and workstations.

  • Install, configure, tune, and troubleshoot commercial and custom software.

  • Manage user accounts and permissions.

  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.

  • Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.

  • Run scans using Evaluate-STIG tool and SCAP.

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of system upgrades and new deployments of hardware and software.

  • Manage Domain controller and Group policy management.

Candidate will possess CompTIA Security +. And within twelve months will obtain commercial certifications in Windows Server (at least 2012) and Windows Client (Windows 10), or as directed by Server Admin Manager. Experience in Microsoft SQL 2012 or higher. Experience in IIS 10.0 or higher. Experience with Dell EMC and Data Domain.

Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in systems administration.

Education: BS or BA degree in a Computer Science or "Relevant Technical Discipline".

CompTIA Security + certification is required.

Current Secret clearance is required.

No per diem. Work location at NAS North Island, CA area. Start date is ASAP.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

At least three (3) years of practical experience in "Relevant Technical Field".

Minimum Education Requirements:

BS or BA degree in a Computer Science or "Relevant Technical Discipline".

Minimum Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, in an office environment. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. repetitively.

Base Hourly Range: $50.00-60.00/hr

This base pay range is specific to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Washington, and any other state that may require such disclosure. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
