We are now looking for an experienced Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our San Diego site to manage and continually improve the manufacturing processes, bring strong contribution to assembly methods, manual or automated and drive manual tool development. As our Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer you will feel equally comfortable working hands-on at the factory floor as well as in driving Design for Manufacturability in new product development projects.

You will contribute to product design through DFM work and collaborate closely with R&D Engineers, factories and external partners, like suppliers, as needed.

What you will do:

  • Support transfers of new designs from R&D to production.

  • Work closely with the manufacturing and R&D teams to incorporate DFM principles (design for manufacturability) into existing and new designs.

  • Engage with the sourcing team and suppliers to resolve pricing, delivery, and technical issues.

  • Work with the RMA group in the evaluation of field failures, support root cause analysis activities and implement corrective actions through design changes when required.

  • Evaluate requested product design changes from either internal or external customers and develop technical proposals for new designs.

  • Execute design changes while following Product Development Process from Design Requirements thru Design Verification/Validation, Customer Acceptance and Release to Production.

  • Design and build product test fixtures for manufacturing use.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related work experience, preferably in a high volume manufacturing environment or relevant design experience including conceptual design, solid modelling, 3D assembly creation, and machined part design.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with SolidWorks

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of customer satisfaction.

  • You work collaboratively and effectively in a complex environment and with cross-functional teams, external parties, and factories.

  • Systematic and organized way of working. You effectively identify and set priorities for the tasks at hand.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • San Diego Compensation Range: $132,000 - $146,000
