Meta FW/SW Enablement and Prototyping Engineer in San Diego, California

Summary:

The candidate in this role will work on co-design of the SW/FW stack for custom silicon for augmented reality, across different kinds of IPs, with a focus on graphics. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner across hardware architecture and firmware/software teams across the stack to co-develop, bring up and optimize the HW/FW/SW for our use cases to understand and address functional, performance and power bottlenecks.

Required Skills:

FW/SW Enablement and Prototyping Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, modify, bring up, debug SW/FW stack for custom silicon with a focus on graphics

  2. Characterize performance and power of custom silicon along with SW/FW stack

  3. Map use cases from content development teams down to hardware components to identify functional, performance and power bottlenecks

  4. Build demos to demonstrate the value of new/critical HW/SW features

  5. Perform power/performance characterization of off the shelf silicon for comparative analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 7+ years of C/C++ for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis

  3. Experience working on FW/SW stack optimization for graphics

  4. Experience working with emulation platforms for custom silicon

  5. Experience working in a cross functional environment

  6. Results oriented, self-motivated, proactive with demonstrated creative & critical thinking

  7. BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in Unity or Unreal gaming engines with script and shader programming experience

  2. Familiarity with modern Graphics Pipeline, software stack and performance profiling tools

  3. C/C++ programming skills with Graphics APIs like OpenGL, Vulkan or Direct3D

Public Compensation:

$136,000/year to $203,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
