BAE Systems Facility Maintenance Mechanic in San Diego, California

Job Description

Are you looking for a career that will provide you with great Benefits and a chance to grow in your craft? BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair Facility Location is seeking to hire a Facility Maintenance Mechanic

Install, troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain shop equipment including pumps, hydraulic systems and controls, pneumatic systems, controls and instrumentation, lathes, boring machines, saws, milling machines, and similar plant machinery and equipment

Maintain preventative and corrective maintenance files and identify repair parts

Disassembly and assembly of shop machinery and other equipment as directed

Refuel generators, forklifts, trucks, and high reach equipment

Other responsibilities include various shop work using metalworking tools such as a lathe, mill, drill press, hydraulic press, and welding

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years rolling stock equipment maintenance experience

Minimum of three years of Industrial Maintenance experience

Demonstrate proficiency with the use of precision measurement tools

Able to use a variety of hand tools and power hand tools

Able to demonstrate knowledge of machine shop equipment including repair and maintenance

Willing to work varying shifts

Knowledge of machine shop equipment including repair and maintenance

Self-motivated and able to work independently with only general supervision

Able to obtain and maintain DBIDS access

Must be physically capable of performing essential functions of the position.

Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces and have the ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes.

Must be able to reach up to 50 inches, lift 30 pounds, and apply

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $57720 - $88483

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
