Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an
ERP Administrator/Systems Developer.
Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego, CA office and reports to the Director of Systems.
Position Summary:
Develop, customize and expand ERP functionality to support business growth and continuous improvement in all functional business units across the Rock West enterprise. Support transition of legacy and other systems to Oracle NetSuite. Develop and support applications external to the ERP to further automate, standardize and continuously improve systems and processes. Applications will be primarily created in Microsoft and Oracle environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Meticulous attention to detail and an eagerness to continually improve skillset by learning new platforms and technologies.
- Support transition of legacy ERP and other systems (e.g. SAP, Excel) into the NetSuite environment through implementation of native functionality, customization, workflow creation and scripting.
- Duties will include hands-on direct work in the system, managing projects and managing outside consultants.
- Continuously improve and maintain the Rock West ERP (Oracle NetSuite) environment with a focus on return-on-investment.
- Support process improvement in all business areas to leverage ERP functionality and improvements.
- Example: Learn current monthly inventory process and provide recommendations and implement changes to improve the process to better leverage NetSuite data/functionality.
- Work with minimal to no supervision collaborating with other technical roles and senior management to provide ERP enhancements, UI tools, back-end calculations, dashboards or similar functionality.
- Fully document and clarify requestor needs and wants into technical specifications and develop solutions to meet these needs. Critical thinking and adaptable communication skills are imperative, as requests may come from a variety of functional areas and communication styles, e.g. manufacturing/operations, finance, quality, engineering, business development.
- Examples of UI tools could be NetSuite Saved Searches, Saved Reports, CSV import/export, homepage reports, view customizations, Excel spreadsheets, SharePoint lists.
- Development using Office 365 Apps including Excel, SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerBI and other tools as delivered in an Office365 environment.
- Create and update standard operating procedures.
- Plan and conduct training to support roll-out of system changes
- Includes ensuring effectiveness of training with follow-up and objective evidence of employee understanding and adoption.
- Support the onboarding activities of new team members
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
- Maintain good change control practices including the development of any necessary documentation to support external auditing requirements.
- Manage third party/outside consultant programmers by defining specifications, monitoring their activities, and assuring results are within budget and specification.

- Operate at all times in compliance with Rock West Composites quality management system. Adherence to all AS9100 including ISO 9001 requirements.
- Comply with Rock West Composites company policies, procedures, and code of business conduct, government and customer agencies.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support implementation of hardware solutions under the direction/in coordination with IT.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree
- 7+ years experience with ERP customization and data management
- 7+ years experience in manufacturing operations

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXXPERIENCE:
- Composite manufacturing experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment for the Aerospace or Defense industries
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 quality management systems
- Proficiency in Spanish
