CNC Setup Machinist
$25/hr-$32/hr

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Setup Machinist to perform setups on CNC Haas Mill Machines. The ideal candidate will be able to operate and read prints, perform manual edits on vertical machines, and monitor machinery for any problems during production runs.
Responsibilities
Perform setups on CNC Haas Mill Machines
Set up one machine and move to the next
Perform manual edits on vertical machines
Operate and read prints
Position materials on the machine and turn on the power
Monitor machinery for any problems during production runs
Make necessary adjustments to correct any issues
Adjust, sharpen, or replace worn tools or change various types of media/chemicals
Apply knowledge of precision measuring instruments
Perform adjustments through work offsets and tool changes to maintain part quality and print tolerance
Adapt to changing work environments and competing demands
Assist in keeping machines program outputs at the optimum level
Assist in minor machining preventive maintenance requirements
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, cutting, and other operations
Identify and troubleshoot CNC malfunctions, collect data, and draw valid conclusions to correct issues
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions and irregularities
Report discrepancies and/or problems to designated supervisor

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must own tools (calipers, measuring tools)
Knowledge of reading drawings and tool sheets
1 to 2 years of experience (open to those with 6 months of setup experience)
Reliability and good attendance record
Self-motivation
Ability to work flexible overtime hours
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
Must stay off the phone during work hours

Work Environment
1st Shift: 6am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday (10-hour shifts). If needed, Friday 6am-11:30am. One 30-minute lunch and two 10-minute breaks. Temperature-regulated shop.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
