CNC Machinist IV - Immediately Hiring - San Diego, CA - Career Opportunity

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist IV to join our team.

  • In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up CNC milling machines, performing quality checks, and ensuring that production meets high standards of quality. Y

  • You will also train new employees and assist in achieving departmental goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work safely and use personal protective equipment.

  • Execute tasks according to Standard Work and drawing specifications without assistance.

  • Inspect and test production to ensure quality requirements are met.

  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gages, thread gages, and pin gages.

  • Perform machine set-ups and make minor machine/program adjustments without assistance.

  • Train other employees in both basic and complex machine operator techniques.

  • Conduct operational checks to ensure tools, fixtures, and equipment are in good working condition.

  • Update production status boards and communicate hourly performance results.

  • Train new hires on standard work and in-house procedures.

  • Assist with additional tasks related to department goals.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in setting up Vertical/Horizontal CNC Milling Machines.

  • Basic knowledge of Mastercam/SolidWorks.

  • Understanding of machine controls using Haas/Fanuc CNC equipment.

  • Ability to navigate through setups with little to no assistance.

  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gages, thread gages, and pin gages.

  • Knowledge of G & M CNC codes.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for training purposes.

  • Ability to work with Technicians and Supervision to diagnose and solve production-related issues.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Troubleshooting skills, including making dimensional adjustments.

  • Experience in altering Z, Y, and X values to produce quality parts.

Work Environment

  • The work environment includes working close to 50 hours regularly with an option to work on Saturdays.

  • The 1st shift hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

  • The role involves working in a production setting, which can be repetitive, but offers the challenge of tough setups and the satisfaction of producing quality parts.

  • Safety and quality are highly valued.

Job Type & Location

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00
