Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector (NGAS) has an opening for a Business Development Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Strategy and Growth organization. This leadership role may be located in Rancho Bernardo, CA or Falls Church, VA.
This role will be accountable for leading our business development efforts and successfully growing the sector by focusing on High Altitude Long Endurance ISR and Airborne Targets opportunities, protecting and growing our existing franchise opportunities, shaping captures and opportunities, developing robust business development strategies aligned to our three business unit priorities and providing a synthesized and integrated approach to maximize our portfolio’s capabilities.
This leader will work closely with Global Surveillance Division strategy and growth, and our RQ-4 and Targets team located in San Diego, CA, Communications and Business Development and execution leadership. In addition, this leader will also build strong, enduring and mutually supportive relationships with other Northrop Grumman Divisions and Sectors in relation to ISR and air borne targets programs and opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership of owning business development, campaign, and capture activities
Develops and executes a business development strategy and plan for the RQ-4 and Targets programs with the objective of growing our relationship and business pipeline
Develop, manage, and support campaigns and engagement plans with RQ-4 and targets customers and government and private stakeholders
Manage relationships and business pipelines in SalesForce
Identify new opportunities or applications for products combined with either existing or new product offerings and work closely with the business to develop and shape the requirements and opportunities to maximize profitability
Interact comfortably and effectively with senior strategic customers, decision makers, third party partners, and officers within Northrop Grumman
Collaboratively executes the program’s strategic growth plan
Manage program priorities and pipeline coordination, and lead determination efforts throughout the program
Assess opportunities available within and beyond existing markets, offerings, and business models
Scan the environment for business opportunities, maintains surveillance over market, and work with the Strategy team to perform financial analysis
Understand, shape, and monitor profitability, productivity, and growth targets
Prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans
Leverage data to develop clear and measurable Business Development activities in support of Program and Division objectives, allocates assigned Business Development resources in concert with those activities, and tracks progress
Drive use of business tools for opportunity management and customer resource management
Ensure that business development activities are carried out in accordance with Government, customer, and Northrop Grumman policies, procedures, and processes
Identify and implement business development projects relating to RQ-4 and Targets products and/or industries, technologies, or services
Have the knowledge and the collaborative skills to ensure each market is optimally oriented for growth and aligned to how we engage with our customers to meet their demands and grow our business
Responsible for driving the Programs growth and marketing objectives by increasing our pipeline resiliency, velocity to qualify opportunities, and the ability to maximize our response to include a full-portfolio perspective

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, sciences or related field and 10 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in business, engineering, sciences or related field and 8 years of related experience, or a PhD and 6 years of related experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in ISR, Targets, government acquisitions, logistics business, or other areas across military and government domains
Experience in systems/services contracting with U.S. DoD programs and customers
Proven relationships and credibility in the federal contracting industry
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top-Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
Demonstrated leadership experience – either leading direct reports, campaign teams, or integrated product teams
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 50% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, engineering, sciences or related field or related discipline
10 years of ISR or targets experience working within the Department of Defense, Military branches, or civilian government roles
Experience working with US Air Force, US Navy, or the Test Resource Management Center
International Direct Commercial Sales or Foreign Military Sales Experience
Program management and/or operational experience
Business Development or program management/execution experience
Active Top-Secret Clearance
Impeccable leadership and communication skills
Trained in BD and/or Capture processes
Salary Range: $142,200 - $213,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
