HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Associate Wildlife Health Registrar serves as a member of the Wildlife Health Division, providing support to Wildlife Heath Registrar and the Veterinary Services Team in the form of medical data entry and record keeping, as well as other complex administrative tasks. This position reports to a Hospital Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct specialized, technical veterinary medical data entry and record keeping, ensuring data integrity, quality, preservation, and accessibility.

  • Assist Wildlife Health Registrar to maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records for both active and inactive wildlife.

  • Assist Wildlife Heath Registrar to obtain and maintain necessary records and documentation required for acquisitions and dispositions, permits, and licenses.

  • Provide daily and advanced-level administrative support for veterinary services team and support other teams as needed.

  • Schedule assigned director's/manager's calendars, arrange meetings, take meeting minutes, manage travel and visitor schedule as needed.

  • Compile wildlife health data and prepare reports as needed for wildlife health staff.

  • Prepare expense reports adhering to SDZWA Finance Department policies and guidelines.

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • JOB EXPERIENCE

    • Prior experience with electronic medical records, either in human or veterinary medicine preferred.
  • Prior experience with ZIMS preferred.

  • EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

    • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Understanding of veterinary medical terminology and animal taxonomy.
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Able to operate complex computer software programs, including Microsoft Office and shared or cloud-based drives.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in a fast paced, diverse environment.

  • Must be able to maintain a consistent level of productivity and complete projects and tasks in a reasonable time frame, to the satisfaction of management.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Able to handle complex situations with a high level of tact and diplomacy.

  • High attention to detail with ability to recognize and resolve animal information anomalies, omissions, and errors.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

  • Hourly Range: $25.77 to $28.48
