Job Title: A & P Mechanic

Job Description

This role is a full-time position at our San Diego line maintenance station. The A&P Mechanic's primary responsibilities include the repair and maintenance of aircraft/components in accordance with customer requirements, performing maintenance meet and greets, and communicating with flight crews regarding inbound issues to perform necessary repairs. This role often requires independent work, and the mechanic will need to be comfortable working alone to fix, repair, and troubleshoot aircraft with minimal support. Clear communication with maintenance control is necessary when issues arise, and the ability to handle multiple discrepancies simultaneously is crucial.

Experience and/or training on at least 2 aircraft types - A319, A320, A321, and/or B737, B767, B777 & E190 aircraft preferred.

Hard Skills

  • A & P license

  • Line Maintenance

  • Commercial aircraft

  • Proficiency with computers

  • General knowledge of federal regulations

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and aircraft wiring diagrams

  • Ability to legally operate a motorized vehicle

  • Routine inspections and troubleshooting

  • Airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems maintenance

  • Airframe and powerplant repairs and modifications

  • Operation of power tools and equipment

  • Accurate recording of time worked on work orders

  • Interpretation of technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints

  • Towing and parking aircraft

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in San Diego, California.

Work Environment

The position is based at the San Diego International Airport. As with any line maintenance, scheduling flexibility is mandatory, including availability during weekends and holidays. The candidate's schedule is to be determined but will be either Swing shift or Night shift. New hires should expect to start on the night shift. Some tools are required, but a bag is acceptable in lieu of a roller toolbox. Specialty tooling will be provided.
