Job Summary and Qualifications

  1. Measures, analyzes, generates and presents reports on healthcare processes and patient outcomes to identify and prioritize areas for improvement.

  2. Applies current knowledge of FACT, and other external standards in support of the Program’s continuous compliance and readiness for accreditation and re-accreditation.

  3. Participates in efforts to establish and maintain organizational readiness to meet regulatory requirements for FACT accreditation

  4. Assumes primary responsibility to confirm cross-organizational compliance with CoC, and FACT accreditation standards

  5. Coordinates accreditation application submissions. Coordinates preparation for accreditation surveys, survey events and post-survey follow-up. Coordinates the Program’s quality and subcommittees. Supports the Program’s Cancer Committee, and sub-committees

  6. Leads, facilitates and supports the improvement of clinical and service quality in the Program. Facilitates the development, monitoring and reporting of quality improvement processes and quality controls for the Program as required by accrediting agencies and in concert with the goals of the Program. Facilitates development of and compliance with the Quality Management Program. Facilitates sentinel event investigations and root cause analysis activities to reduce risk and increase patient safety. Facilitates the peer review process as indicated.

  7. As appropriate to role, conducts, reviews and reports audits, verifications, validations and/or qualifications to verify compliance with elements of the Quality Management Program and operational policies and procedures. Collects and analyzes data, using quality improvement tools for interpreting statistical data, identifying trends, acting on findings, and formulating plans for continued evaluation/ improvement.

  8. Provides reports to Program and medical directors as well as leadership of the hospital regarding deviations from SOPs, pathways and care algorithms, including: The impact on quality, resources, and/or cost of care

  9. Recommendations for correction. Maintains Program records in compliance with facility and third party requirements. Reports regularly on the Quality Management Program to the Clinical Program Director.

  10. Collaborates with other departments to assure that the Program remains current in standards of other external organizations, for example, the American Association of Blood Banks. Coordinates performance improvement activities focused on BMT and blood cancer patients or nursing/medical and/or organizational quality initiatives through the use of specific benchmarks and evidence-based practices. Participates in the evaluation of the impact of improvement activities.

What qualifications you will need:

  1. Mandatory: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or related healthcare degree required.

  2. Mandatory: Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a hospital setting required.

  1. Prefer: Quality Management, FACT, TJC, experience with bone marrow transplant program.
