The Project Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of our construction projects. This position will work closely with project managers, lenders, and equity partners to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting for each project. The successful candidate will have a background in construction accounting and project cost management, with a focus on accuracy and deadline compliance.

salary: $78,000 - $82,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Responsible for compiling and submitting construction draws to lenders, ensuring all project costs are properly documented and aligned with budgets.

• Prepare financial statements and monthly reports for the construction department. This includes recording budget revisions and ensuring that financial reports are accurate and up-to-date.

• Prepare and post journal entries related to construction activities, including tax accruals, insurance costs, and other relevant transactions.

• Track and confirm the receipt of funds from lenders and equity investors to ensure projects have adequate cash flow and funding.

• Perform monthly reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers (such as job costs and accounts payable) with the general ledger to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

• Import and process contractor invoices, as well as record ACH payments to ensure timely and accurate disbursement of funds.

• Reconcile bank accounts and intercompany accounts regularly to maintain financial accuracy and track cash flow.

• Assist in preparing schedules and documents required for audits and tax filings to ensure compliance with accounting regulations.

• Handle additional accounting-related tasks and special projects as assigned, which may include developing reports, supporting other departments, or assisting with system improvements.
