POSITION SUMMARY:
The Principal Continuous Improvement Specialist will focus on identifying, analyzing, and executing process improvement initiatives across the organization. This individual will use data-driven approaches to assess current operations, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions that lead to cost savings, improved quality, and enhanced customer satisfaction. The role requires collaboration with senior leadership and multiple departments to implement best practices and foster a continuous improvement mindset throughout the company. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, expertise in process improvement methodologies, and a passion for driving change.
This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency and skill level. Position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifies, develops and leads initiatives to streamline operations and enhance productivity using proven process improvement methodologies.
Assesses current processes, identifies inefficiencies, and uncovers opportunities for improvement to drive operational excellence.
Partners with teams across the organization to implement data driven solutions, track progress, and ensure sustainable improvements.
Leads and supports change management efforts related to process improvements, ensuring smooth transitions and stakeholder engagement.
Identifies and assesses potential risks in process changes and improvement initiatives, develops mitigation strategies, and actively manages risks throughout project lifecycles.
Collaborates with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure initiatives align with organizational priorities and deliver measurable results.
Collects and analyzes performance data to track progress, identifies trends, and supports informed decision-making.
Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for ongoing initiatives, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.
Provides guidance, training, and support to teams on continuous improvement methodologies, fostering a culture of excellence.
Develops and presents compelling business cases, including cost-benefit analysis, to secure leadership buy-in.
Continuously monitors market trends , emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation and elevate continuous improvement efforts.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree required
Ten (10) years of related experience; including five (5) years of relevant experience in project management and continuous improvement initiatives.
SKILLS:
Strong leadership experience preferred, with a proven ability to influence senior leadership and lead cross-functional teams.
Proficient in methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Business Process Management, ADKAR. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or Lean certification preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with leaders at all levels, including executives and external vendors.
Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and process improvement tools (Mural/Muri, Visio, ARIS, BPMN) preferred.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Relevant field and industry experience preferred, with a comprehensive understanding of industry trends and market landscape.
