JOB TITLE: Data Scientist

LOCATION: 19500 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257

DUTIES: Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. Duties include: Produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from unstructured, diverse datasets; Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement; Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data; Analyze raw data sources, data transformation, structural requirements for new products;

Perform analysis and interpret data using software programming tools; Design, code, test and leverage Data Science/Machine Learning tools, to transform data to incorporate into business logic; and Subject matter expert in Data Science/Machine Learning concepts and practices providing explanations, information and translation of models while working with technical and non-technical partners to drive the business needs. The position reports to the San Antonio, TX office and allows for partial telecommuting.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field and completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or one year of experience in the job offered or a data related occupation. Experience must include the following:

• Statistical software SQL, Tableau R, Power BI, or Hadoop;

• Programming languages in Python, Java, Scala, or SQL;

• Big Data Platforms in Hadoop or Spark;

• SQL queries;

• Data extraction and transformation; and

• System development lifecycles.

RATE OF PAY: $99,840 - $140,612 / per year
