We are in search of a diligent Controller to be part of our team in San Antonio, Texas. As a Controller, you will be expected to oversee financial and accounting activities, manage financial records, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. This role is vital in the enhancement of our financial performance, the establishment of budget processes, and the implementation of financial strategies. This is a great opportunity for an Accounting Manager CPA or CPA eligible candidate to take the next step in their career! Our client is willing to sponsor and provide the Becker Review or similar for the right person.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Utilize accounting software systems and tools such as QuickBooks and Crystal Reports to perform daily tasks

• Manage and analyze financial data to prepare financial reports

• Ensure compliance with the organization’s tax liabilities (Sales Tax Liability, Nexus experience, HET Heavy Equipment Tax, Sales Tax, Terp Tax)

• Review and audit financial statements to ensure accuracy and legality

• Implement and manage budget processes

• Oversee the preparation and publication of all statutory financial information

• Monitor the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement

• Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making

• Develop strategies to maximize ROI and meet the company's financial objectives.

Requirements

Requirements Of the Position

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• CPA preferred but not required, candidates who are eligible to sit for CPA are the best fit for this role

• Demonstrated skills in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL)

• Proven experience in Auditing

• Knowledge in Budget Processes

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Enterprise

• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation

• Understanding of Tax Liabilities (Sales Tax Liability Nexus experience, HET Heavy Truck Tax, Sales Tax, Terp Tax)

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field

• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite

• Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards.
