Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Location: San Antonio, TX

Vighter is looking for a Certified Registered Nurses Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide anesthesia services for the Veterans Healthcare System in San Antonio, TX. CRNA care covers the range of Anesthesiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art health care facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards.

Responsibilities:

-Provide anesthesia services at VAMC clinics/surgeries

-Provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services to include, but not limited to, patients undergoing cardiac surgery, orthopedic joint replacement, and major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic, and ophthalmologic surgeries.

-Provide clinical care of patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, gastrointestinal and radiological suites, to include MRI.

-Provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management.

-Provide consultative services at the patient’s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory

-Consult with patients in an outpatient clinic setting if the patient is ambulatory

-Direct patient care is estimated at 95% and administrative time 5%

Education:

-Graduation from a Council on Accreditation accredited Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program and successful completion of the National Certification Examination administered by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).

-CRNA must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.

-Must possess ACLS and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

**Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation

**Must undergo urine drug testing

Positions require applicants to be US Citizens, 21 years or older and have a valid RN license.
