Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and pursuing new business opportunities that align with the organization’s long-term strategic objectives. This role involves conducting market research, financial feasibility studies, and business planning to assess potential projects. The individual will maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients while actively seeking new partnerships to expand revenue streams. Working closely with internal technical teams, the Business Development Manager ensures that client needs are met through innovative and cost-effective solutions. Additionally, this role requires a deep understanding of contract terms and provisions to support negotiations and business growth.The position will work remotely with travel as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities and industry trends.

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive growth and expand market presence.

  • Evaluate potential projects through financial feasibility studies, risk assessments, and operational planning.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while cultivating new client opportunities up to the General Manager level.

  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to develop solutions that align with customer needs and company capabilities.

  • Lead and participate in the preparation of business proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations to secure new business.

  • Monitor and analyze client development plans to identify potential areas for partnership or expansion.

  • Serve as a liaison with KBR counterparts on cross-business unit opportunities, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

  • Assist with special studies related to operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, or cost containment initiatives.

  • Track and report on business development performance metrics, providing insights to senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 12+ years of professional experience including program management, contracting, and/or logistics fields.

  • Experience working for Army Sustainment Command, Army Contracting Command, and TACOM.

  • Direct experience as a Small Business Professional (SBP) within the Office of Small Business Programs.

  • Demonstrated history of securing contracts and growing business revenue.

  • Knowledge of contract structures, terms, and provisions relevant to business development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in government contracting.

  • Experience working overseas in a contingency environment.

  • Experience working with US Army programs.
