Major Accountabilities:

o Completes department on-line training modules as assigned. o Assists training leader with scheduling of recurrent training and training forecasts. o Participates in safety management processes under guidance of the safety leader. o Assists with administrative duties such as escorting visitors, and preparing reports or presentations. o Liaisons with Valero’s international and domestic security teams to gather information on global events that may adversely impact employees, travel operations, and general business. Learn to use company security information management programs to facilitate greater situational awareness. o Assists aviation line service with cleaning and detailing aircraft fleet, clean and maintain hangar, and preparatory functions related to aircraft flight and maintenance schedules. o Assists maintenance technicians with aircraft services to include preflight activities, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting aircraft squawks / discrepancies. o Assists flight schedulers with passenger and aircraft coordination to include enforcement of corporate aircraft usage policy, schedule de-confliction, airport selection, crew assignments, logistic arrangements, and flight planning. o Assists cabin safety crew members with inventory of aircraft stores and supplies, food preparation, cabin management and passenger management activities. o Assists flight crews with preparation activities such as analyze weather forecasts, review Notices to Airmen, validate the route of flight route, review maintenance logs, review aircraft anomalies, complete risk assessments, and preflight walk around or as directed by a Trip Captain. o Is available to travel as a third crewmember on company aircraft to observe Valero flight operations. Participate in aircraft launch and recovery procedures under the observation of Operations Control Center (OCC). Observe flight planning and crew scheduling under the guidance of OCC. Perform post flight data entry into Professional Flight Management. Observe and participate in operations preflight briefings. o Assists Chief Pilot with operational considerations and department management activities. o Assists Director of Aviation with department leadership activities, industry relations, and like considerations.

Location: Valero Aviation Department, 1000 Skyplace Blvd., San Antonio, TX 78216

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in Aviation Management or Technology or related major, and/or a Federal Aviation Administration Pilot or Aviation Maintenance Certification required. * Overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred. * Obtained at least 60 credit hours by the start of summer internship required. * Graduation dates of August 2025 through May 2027 required. * Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer required (May 19- August 1). * Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required. * Ability to perform duties in a timely and efficient manner required. * Ability to work independently and use good judgment required. * Display maturity and maintain professionalism required. * Dress in appropriate work attire required. * Must have reliable transportation (Note: VIA Metropolitan Transit is available) required. * Ability to perform duties in a timely and efficient manner required.
