Job Title: Aircraft Structural Mechanic

Job Description / Overview : Aerotek is currently hiring Aircraft Structural Mechanics to perform maintenance, modifications and overhauls on F/A-18 fighter jets in San Antonio, TX on a contract to hire basis for one of the worlds largest Defense Contract Management Agencies. Those hired will be working on a US Navy program keeping F/A-18 fighters mission ready after performing various modification and maintenance actions on these aircraft. No Tools Required.

Your responsibilities will include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair/replacement, and assembly operations on critical aircraft structures such as formers, longerons, ribs, and bulkheads. You will work in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, and supplier specifications. Additionally, you will handle heavy structural modifications, including wing root removal and replacement, and engage in all types of sheet metal fabrication, skin repairs, and structural repairs. You will also be responsible for the teardown, repair, overhaul, and reassembly of major aircraft systems and components.

Pay Rate : $37.00 - $40.00

Shift(s) : 1st Shift: M-F 5:30am-2:30pm (OT optional)

2nd Shift: M-F 2pm-10:30pm (OT optional)

Required Experience :

4-5+ years of Aircraft Structural / Airframe Maintenance ideally

F/A-18 maintenance experience preferred but not required

Must have some form of Heavy Maintenance / Depot Level / Aircraft Modification Experience

Job Type : This is a Contract-to-Hire position with the opportunity convert direct after 6-months or stay on contract indefinitely.

Work Site : This is a fully on-site position in San Antonio, Texas.

Work Environment : You will be working in an open-bay, non-climate controlled environment. An allowance of $100 per year is provided for steel-toed shoes.
