Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Type: Contract/Contract to Hire

Compensation: Up to $27/hr. DOE

Job Description: Robert Half is partnering with a reputable company in San Antonio, TX, that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys staying on top of transactional accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable workflows, demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, and be comfortable working with accounting systems and software to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments.

• Key Responsibilities: Process a high volume of vendor invoices, including coding, matching, batching, and entering into the accounting system.

• Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accurately recorded.

• Manage the month-end closing process for accounts payable, including accruals and journal entries.

• Handle vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.

• Prepare weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Maintain vendor records, including W-9 forms and 1099 data for tax reporting purposes.

• Collaborate with other departments to obtain approval for expenditures and ensure compliance with company protocols.

• Assist in audits, providing support and documentation related to accounts payable.

• Continuously identify opportunities to streamline processes and drive efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• Requirements: Education: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems) and Microsoft Excel.

• Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and strong organizational skills.

• Knowledge: Understanding of GAAP principles and familiarity with 1099 processing highly preferred.

• Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity and discretion.
