Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in SAN ANTONIO, Texas, 78209-1625, United States. This role involves processing payments, maintaining vendor tax information, and providing administrative support in an accounting setting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts payable function of the department.

• Provide administrative and project assistance to Accounting Management as needed.

• Manage and deliver invoices to the appropriate supervisors for approval of payment.

• Prepare and enter check requests and journal entries.

• Maintain accurate records by scanning and filing invoices and journal entries after processing, along with any generated reports.

• Process payments from agents and branches using specific software.

• Monitor and respond to positive pay exceptions upon approval.

• Conduct research on outstanding checks for other departments.

• Update various Excel spreadsheets on a monthly basis.

• Prepare accounts payable folders for each new year.

• Backup team members in the unit/department. Requirements • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist

• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes

• Proficiency in account reconciliation

• Experience in check runs and coding invoices

• Ability to process invoices accurately and efficiently

• Proficient data entry skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Oracle and SAP software

• Familiarity with QuickBooks

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
