Job Title: Equipment Operator (Full-Time, Hourly)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our construction team. In this role, you will operate specialized equipment used in construction, repair, ditching, and maintenance projects. This is a safety-sensitive position that may require travel, overtime, and weekend work, with transportation provided to out-of-town job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, boring machines, wheel-type ditching machines, graders, front-end loaders, and backhoes.
- Clear and dig drainage ditches, as well as dig and backfill trenches.
- Understand the operation characteristics and maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Read blueprints and follow oral and written instructions.
- Follow all company, city, state, and OSHA safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating directional bore rigs, backhoes, excavators, and trenchers.
- Ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing in and out of trenches.
- Must pass a background check and submit to a substance screening test.
- CDL is a plus.
Work Environment:
- This position is part of a construction crew, where punctuality and teamwork are essential.
- Must maintain focus on safety and avoid shortcuts to prevent accidents.
- Cross-training will be provided to perform all functions related to building or repairing municipal water and sewer lines.
