R.C. HUNT ELECTRIC, INC. Instrument Control Panel Technician in SALT LAKE CTY, Utah

Hunt Electric, Inc. and Instrument Control Company (ICC) of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for full-time* Experienced Panel Technician* to join our team within the Instrument Control Division.

This person will report directly to the Operations Manager and assist in the production of Instrument Control Panels. You will be building industrial control panels. Training new panel technicians. Leading a team of technicians on large projects. Pulling parts, cutting wires and attaching to various components by following prints and attaching components with basic hand tools. Testing wiring with a meter for accuracy. Attention to detail and following step by step instructions will lead you to a successful panel build out.

 

Major Duties:

 

  • Building industrial control panels.
  • Training new panel technicians.
  • Taking lead on large projects.
  • Following schematics and diagrams on installation of parts, wire, and components.
  • Testing and troubleshooting with a meter for accuracy.
  • Experienced in reading and interpreting instructional drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of UL 508A standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of wire types and sizes.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Knowledge of electrical fundamentals.

     

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Strong reading comprehension, attention to detail and organized.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs to 100lbs.

  • Possess knowledge of basic hand tools and ability to use and care for them.

  • Ability to be punctual and dependable.

  • Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends when needed.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

  • Ability to route wires neatly

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain professional appearance:

    • Work pants worn in a conventional manner with no tears.
    • Work boots.
  • Ability to understand wiring diagrams and schematics.

  • Previous electrical and mechanical assembly experience required.

  • Proficient in basic math (algebra)

  • Proficient in all types of measuring tools as required.

  • Proficient at troubleshooting and good analytical skills.

  • Proficient in using computers to obtain and document information.

  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, off on Fridays.
