R.C. HUNT ELECTRIC, INC. Industrial Automation Technician in SALT LAKE CTY, Utah

Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is currently looking for an Industrial Automation Technician that is reliable, trainable, hard-working interested in a new or continued and exciting career and becoming part of our Automation and Controls team. This person will work with three-phase power systems, motors and motor controls, drives and controllers, control systems, relay logic, PLC's Automation, Manufacturing, troubleshooting and repair, control design, and integration.  We are based out of Utah and have more than 30 years of experience working in various departments of the Electrical and Automation industry.

 

Major Duties:

  • Installing and maintaining three-phase power distribution systems, both permanent and portable.
  • Work with VFD's, Soft Starts and PLC's
  • Design, install, maintain and service motor control systems
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager

     

Required Skills:

  • High School graduate or Equivalent
  • A valid Apprentice/Journeyman Electrician's License Preferred a plus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass background and drug test

     

Minimum Qualifications: (training available)

  • Experience in print reading, controls, motor controls, control design, control troubleshooting,
  • Power distribution from 480-volt 3 phase to 120-volt single phase.
  • Experience with 3 phase and single-phase motors, terminations, splicing and calculating load, ampacity, wire size, and wire/motor overload protection.
  • Familiar with, and use, the National Electric Code - 
  • Familiar with meters, amp probes, power meters, meggars , etc. 

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming experience a plus. 

     

Work Environment:

  • Surface mine sites -- Sand and Gravel Pits, Asphalt Plants, and Concrete Plants and manufacturing facilities.
  • PPE gear -- Hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed lace-up shoes -- plus other safety gear as required
  • Both indoor and outdoor work

     

This full-time position receives a competitive salary commensurate with experience and position responsibilities. As a full-time Industrial Automation Technician, you would also be eligible for an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, life insurance, short and long-term disability, a 401(k) plan, and paid personal time (PTO).

WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 7: 00am - 2:00pm.
