SALT LAKE COMMUNITY COLLEGE Specialist 3, Records and Data Management in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Under the direction of the Coordinator, oversee the data management of student records in compliance with federal regulations and internal policies. Hire, train, and supervise hourly staff. Ensure accurate and timely compilation of student data entry and maintain data with integrity. Work closely with various departments, including but not limited to, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to facilitate the successful completion of student record management including data cleansing and the submission, maintenance, and accuracy of thousands of student data requests. Responsible for NJCAA Athletic Eligibility and serve as a backup for various areas in the Office of the Registrar.

  • Oversee the data management of student records in compliance with federal regulations and internal policies.
  • Hire, train and supervise hourly staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely compilation of student data entry.
  • Scan and index documents.
  • Resolve problems for college departments and deal with challenges unique to special programs and sites.
  • Manage maintenance of student records, address, name, social security number, pin number, major change updates, catalog term changes, and conversion of pre-SIS and SIS transcripts to Banner.
  • Create and run Banner processes and Cognos reports for various college departments.
  • Process and maintain various reports in relation to the student record which may include preparing graphs, tables, charts, and slides.
  • Coordinate the successful completion regarding the submission and maintenance of thousands of student data requests pertaining to admissions, advising, registration, financial aid, graduation, residency, college, state and federal reports. This may include applications for admission, high school transcripts, test scores and all other student academic records for multiple student types (e.g. Undergraduate, Apprenticeship, Concurrent etc.), athletic eligibility, senior citizens, etc.
  • Upload data into student information system (Banner) and reconcile error reports.
  • Maintain student lists and database tables.
  • Work directly with OIT to assure data and record integrity for official and state reporting.
  • Resolve unreliable data concerns by assisting to resolve problems, building and updating codes that impact student data.
  • Assist and train college departments on data integrity.
  • Influence to update and implement college policy regarding student record procedures and processes.
  • Represent Office of the Registrar and Academic Records (ORAR) on various college committees.
  • Represent Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) in state and regional organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
