Role and Technical Skills The Software Test Engineer will be an integral part of a dedicated product development team, collaborating to deliver high-quality, high-performance software. This individual will possess a strong skill set in automation, with a specialized focus on backend testing. This includes areas such as API, database, integration testing, and testing microservices. Quality Assurance and Collaboration This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of quality within our organization, championing innovative testing strategies with an automation-first mindset. The engineer will collaborate directly with the agile team and other stakeholders, leading and driving testing efforts and participating in release activities. Utilizing a variety of technical and analytical tools, they will evaluate the quality of our systems and data, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to quality improvement initiatives. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Coordinate New Assignments: Determine methods and procedures on new tasks, potentially coordinating activities of other personnel (QA Release Lead). * Review Requirements: Provide expert input to Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Acceptance Criteria, ensuring they are complete, testable, and unambiguous. * Manage Test Assets: Own and manage the test assets, including risk identification, test prioritization, metric communication, and maintenance of the test environment and tools. * Perform Tests: Plan and execute tests addressing various aspects like functional, regression, data integrity, compatibility, security, and performance. Proactively define the testing scope and approach. * Document Issues: Record issues efficiently, providing necessary detail for accurate triage and focused development efforts. * Utilize Test Tools: Evaluate and develop new test tools and techniques to enhance testing efficiency. * Define Quality Standards: Establish testing and quality standards for an agile release team, promoting an automation-first mindset and setting best practices and benchmarks. * Document Test Activities: Record test activities, evaluate product quality throughout the development lifecycle, and communicate findings clearly to team members and stakeholders. PREFERRED EXPERTISE AND COMPETENCIES * A degree in computer science is preferred, with advanced degrees being particularly favored. * Have at least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, with less experience required for those with higher degrees. * A deep understanding of testing concepts and be capable of leading their implementation. * Proficiency in SQL, UI...
