We are builders at heart, working to ensure the built environment has a lasting positive impact. | Let's Redefine Possible SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to provide leadership, coordination, and final preparation of full estimates on large and complex work projects. Excellent communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality will be vital to your success. RESPONSIBILITIES Organize, plan and schedule for estimate preparation * Leads teams of estimators on large projects * Facilitate meetings necessary for completion of estimate, including kick off, status updates, plan flips, final reviews, etc. * Assign work to ensure complete and reliable estimate incorporating all relevant information, including, but not limited to contract documents, communication with design team and owner, tax laws, collective bargaining agreements, permits and other regulatory requirements, etc. Adjust assignments as necessary to complete the estimate in time allotted. * Prepare trade partner strategy and prepare invitation to bid / budget, working with project team to guarantee complete pricing coverage. * Obtain all relevant documents including BIM (Building Information Model) necessary to complete quantity survey and to assist in understanding of project. Promote collaboration between all parties to ensure complete understanding of scope that leads to comprehensive Scope and Budget Alignment. * Ensure completion of changes discussed in estimate reviews. Work with estimating team to ensure complete Quantity Survey of materials / resources required to complete the project - Use knowledge of project type and construction best practices to "fill in the gaps" in early design documents to ensure a complete and thorough estimate that reflects the total scope of work necessary. * Effectively works with estimating, project and design teams to identify and mitigate risk to the project budget and margin * Work with project team to determine site logistic and schedule requirements and prepare general requirements estimate * Utilize cost history to inform scope, pricing, productivities, etc. * Work with Project Sponsor to ensure estimate that meets company and group margin goals. Prepare and present margin plan for approval by project and group leaders. * Prepares team for and manages Bid Day * Prepares team and manages estimate presentation to design team and owner demonstrating complete command of scope and budget * Electronically file appropriate documents. For commercial projects archive in Eos Cortex and Estimate Change Log. * Cost modeling, value analysis and target value delivery * Utilize Eos Cortex to create cost models and target values to inform customer budgets. * Utilize estimate, industry knowledge, etc. to provide value analysis to maintain project budgets * Perform cost studies to assist design team in selection of building systems, materials and other design requirements. Assist Design Phase Team in steering design to budget. Self-Performed Work expertise - prepare or supervise preparation of all self-performed work scopes utilizing appropriate levels of detail and TCH (Task Code History) to accurately price the work. * Work with project team and visit project sites to ensure proper allocation and reporting of costs, work hours and quantities to ensure reliability of cost data for use in future estimates. * Record final estimate and, upon project...
