Job Summary
Job Summary
Conducts hands on training of institutional systems including iCentra and EPIC . Assists in the development and enhancement of curriculum and lesson plans for the Department of Pediatrics as well as Division specific training. Provides floor support to system users, assessing staff skills using the systems. Provides follow up training tailored to individual staff needs. Monitors the effectiveness of the training program. This position requires regular onsite attendance.
This position is primarily housed in a call center, separate from clinic locations. The primary job location is 200 S 250 E, Salt Lake City, UT; site rotations are required at Primary Children’s Outpatient Services building at 81 N Mario Capecchi Dr, Salt Lake City, UT.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Assist in the development and implementation of training curriculum.
Responsible for getting new hires into necessary system training.
Provide call center specific training including de-escalation of calls, call etiquette, and scripting guidelines.
Provide hands on training for department specific EMR .
Provide division specific training to all new hires; provide ongoing training and education to existing employees as needed.
Provide standardized process training including but not limited to scheduling, quality assurance expectations, referral processes, HIM processes, etc.
Assist with Incident Reporting Tool ( IRT ) analysis and review errors with scheduling agents.
Assist with Quality Assurance (QA) protocols, monitoring and use of call recordings to provide coaching and training to agents.
Maintain a working understanding of various types of phones used in the office.
Maintain working knowledge of standard processes in both EPIC and iCentra systems including scheduling and registration of patients. Assist in implementation of updates and changes to policies and protocols.
Provide consistent communication of changes and updates to all teams as appropriate.
Comply with Federal and University privacy guidelines (including HIPAA ) in entering health information into Electronic Medical Records.
Monitors the effectiveness of training programs and provides meaningful feedback to curriculum developers and managers.
Maintains department statistics and other training data; creates training reports as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years experience in a training or customer support capacity or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated computer, organization, human relation and effective verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to manage time and work independently.

Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency.
Experience with the University of Utah Department of Pediatrics Clinical Enterprise and familiarity with guidelines and policies within the scheduling, referral and HIM management systems.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Access) and ability to navigate four to eight concurrent computer programs effectively.
Typing speed of 40 WPM or more.
Experience in medical office scheduling and phone customer service.
Fluent in Spanish speaking skills.
Experience with Electronic Medical Record system(s) and medical terminology strongly preferred.
Ability to use ten-key by touch.
Previous teaching or training experience.
