The clinical research coordinator will be responsible for coordinating implementation, quality control and completion of epidemiologic and translational research studies within the Section of Bariatric Surgery. The sections research focuses on the impact of bariatric surgery on patient health and health services utilization and the mechanisms by which bariatric surgery results in durable weight loss, diabetes remission, and cancer risk reduction. The clinical research coordinator will assist with project development, IRB submission and maintenance, project schedule, meeting coordination, patient enrollment and data collection, biospecimen processing and storage and data synthesis for grant submission and manuscript preparation as well as quality control of data and maintenance of compliance with guidelines set by governing and granting agencies. Phlebotomy skills are desired, but coordinators not previously trained in phlebotomy will also be considered.
