Job Summary
Performs a variety of accounting duties that range in level of complexity from clerical accounting duties such as managing receivables to more complex duties such as preparing budget or reconciling accounts.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Analyzes and monitors budgets and expenditures for compliance with fiscal accountability and reporting requirements.
Analyzes and forecasts revenue and expenditure trends.
Reconciles balance sheets, cash, general ledger, payroll accounts and supporting journal entries.
Processes invoices for payment, ensuring billed amount and quantity received corresponds to purchase order.
Prepares invoices and bills.
Reviews, deposits, and posts payments, scholarships and other transactions to accounting systems.
Prepares check requests, campus orders and purchase orders.
Assists with departmental purchasing and procurement.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, plus two years full-time clerical accounting experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. The ability to understand, interpret, and apply University and departmental regulations; demonstrated spreadsheet skills; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Experience using software programs such as PeopleSoft or Kronos may be required for certain positions.
