Primary Purpose :

Responsible to facilitate projects including project definition and scope, deliverable, risk assessment, milestones, project tracking, and status reporting. The Project Manager provides project leadership, management, and oversight throughout the project but usually does not provide ongoing support of solutions post-deployment. Independently manages projects small to large in scope and complexity, and at any level of the organization. Responsible for leading, organizing, coordinating, monitoring and communicating Information Technology centric and/or complex enterprise projects or programs from initiation through delivery. Gather data from sponsors, stakeholders, and end-users to evaluate objectives, requirements, goals, and scope to create technical specifications. Manage end-to-end process that may include research, architecture, development, selection, customization, implementation, validation, training and promotion. Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments to ensure all targets and requirements are met. Ensure technical projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Keep leadership informed of key issues that may impact project completion, budget, or other results. May work with software such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), laboratory information system (LIS), human resource information system (HRIS), automation systems, database, or web applications. Essential Functions :

Manages ARUP projects as defined by the Project Management Policy, including developing and monitoring project timetables, deliverables, project communications and progress reports, and other project requirements.

Follows project management methodologies as defined and outlined by Project Management Institute (PMI) and ARUP policies and procedures.

Creates and executes project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

Maintains professional relationships with sponsors, stakeholders, team members, vendors, and consultants.

Gains a comprehensive technical understanding of the business challenge and solutions proposed by the project team.

Serves as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments, and vendors.

Identifies resources needed and assigns responsibilities for a project.

Maintains a comprehensive understanding of project management and uses strong problem-solving, communication and leadership skills to keep projects on track.

Work in collaboration with software development teams and/or sourcing on projects that involve 3rd party product evaluation, selection and implementation (i.e., off-the-shelf solutions).

Facilitates and troubleshoots problems associated with developing complex systems or with coordination, development, or design of projects.

Manages day-to-day operational aspects of projects and their scope.

Minimizes exposure and risk on project.

Manages project budget, including tracking and reporting expenses, capital costs, and resource costs.

Analyzes project return on investment, profitability, revenue, and utilization.

Establishes and maintains communication as required with the project sponsor and operational committees and management.

Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client, project sponsor, or stakeholder.

Presents analysis, recommendations, and project status to senior management and other oversight committees. Maintains open and effective communication with and between personnel on work teams and with other members of the organization.

Ensures proper processes are being followed, and assists in establishing new processes as required.

Physical and Other Requirements :Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies. ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Associates Degree or better in Business

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree or better in Business

  • Master's Degree or better in Business

Licenses & Certifications

  • Project Management Prof

Experience

Required

  • With an Associate's degree: four years of demonstrated experience managing complex, multi departmental projects With a Bachelor's degree: two years of demonstrated experience managing complex, multi departmental projects

  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the technical and administrative aspects of all phases of project management, as defined by PMI

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrated technical acumen

Preferred

  • Lean Six Sigma

  • Experience in various software applications including the following: MS Project, MS Project Server or other Project Management Software, MS Office including Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint, Computer aided simulation, process modeling software, Enterprise software solutions

  • Experience managing projects in an Agile development environment
