Department: CX Product Team - 934 Primary Purpose :

At ARUP Laboratories we are seeking an experienced software Product Manager to help shape the future of ARUP Laboratory’s public facing websites used by laboratory staff, physicians, medical personnel, and researchers. The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals

We are looking for a candidate who has at least four years of experience managing customer self-service web portals. The candidate must have a customer-first perspective and use customer interactions, research, and data from web analytics and other sources to fully evaluate and understand the customers’ needs and jobs to be done, and must be able to translate those findings into valuable functionality.

Working with various stakeholders and cross functional teams, the product manager will create a prioritized product roadmap and deliverables. As such, this role requires a candidate with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Essential Functions :

Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth

Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

Define the product strategy and roadmap

Maintain a product backlog of prioritized features and corresponding justification

Be an expert with respect to the competition

Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product

Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources

Drive product launches including working with marketing, executives, and other product management team members

Perform product demos to customers as requested

Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services

Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

Other duties as assigned.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or better

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or better in Business Administration

Experience

Required

  • Four (4) years of experience as a software Product Manager or four (4) years of experience with increasing responsibility in the laboratory

Preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A proven track record as a Product Manager managing B2B self-service web portals

  • Proven work experience in product management or as an associate product manager

  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization

  • Excellent teamwork skills
