[Join our team in St. George! We're hiring a part-time Office Specialist to deliver excellent customer service and ensure regulatory compliance. This position is with the Utah Department of Commerce, Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL). This position requires the successful candidate to work in the office 20-25 hours per week. * *ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As an Office Specialist, you will provide exceptional customer service and be responsible for ensuring compliance with BCI, FBI, and other background system laws, rules, and policies. Your roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: ]{#isPasted}
- Customer Service:
- Respond to inquiries from the public via phone, email, and in-person for both the St. George and Salt Lake City locations.
- Provide exceptional customer service via calls and walk-in customers.
- Administrative and Office Duties:
- Accurately input and verify data into agency software systems.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records.
- Utilize strong computer skills to complete tasks efficiently.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Customer Service : At least 1 year of experience in a customer service or public-facing role, especially in handling inquiries via phone, email, or in-person communication.
- Communication Skills : At least 1 year of experience that demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional documents (emails, letters, chat) and respond to inquiries clearly and professionally.
- Data Entry Skills : Previous experience working with databases and inputting or managing data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
PREFERRED
- Prior experience working in the public sector (Federal, State, or Local government).
- Prior experience handling phone calls in a professional setting, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to perform various administrative tasks.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat).
