ELECTRO TEST INC MV Traveling Switchgear Field Technician - Council Bluffs in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

POSITION SUMMARY

A Field Technician is responsible for assisting in start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service and troubleshooting of E+I Engineering medium voltage electrical switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, plc, meters and other automated devices as well as mechanical repairs and modifications. The FT is required to establish, promote, and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate. The FT is also required to maintain continuous communication with CRC, Supervisor, and direct manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A Field Technician is responsible for assisting in start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service and troubleshooting of E+I Engineering 15KVAC electrical switchgear
  • The Field Technician is required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate
  • Ability to evaluate the operating conditions of equipment
  • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Must have the ability and self-motivation to manage one's own schedule
  • Perform general and preventive maintenance on switchgear
  • Respond to emergency calls at customer's request
  • Strive to provide all customers a 'first time fix' for their equipment
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external customers
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines, an d laws.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of timecards, expense reports, etc.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of hands-on Medium Voltage switchgear or field services is desired
  • Training in electrical theory and technologies. Experience and/or prior military service performing applicable job duties.
  • Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals
  • Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation is desired.
  • Power distribution, AC/DC, Voltage Circuit Theory and practical troubleshooting skills is desired
  • Background in electrical power including medium voltage and experience with most types of switchgear testing is a plus.
  • Experience with programming PLCs and HMIs is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Valid driv er's license is required

Due to the safety sensitive aspect of the role, candidates are required to successfully pass a drug test prior to employment. In addition, you will also be required to complete and pass a pre-employment background check.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 60% to 80% depending on location of residence

The anticipated salary range for this role in the State of Washington is between $82,110 to $102,638 per year (based on a 40-hour work week)-salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role. The role is eligible to participate in a comprehensive and compe titive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, disability, PTO (up to 15 accrued days the first year), holiday pay (9 days), and 401k.
