Maintenance Technician
Job Description
I am seeking a skilled Mechanical/Electrical Technician to perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment. The position involves working as part of a team to safely perform preventive maintenance activities and responding to breakdown calls in a production environment. Training is provided to develop multicraft skills, and technicians will handle a range of work from hands-on mechanical to electrical tasks.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery, performing full teardowns and builds as needed.
Comfortably work with live wiring and using meters (600V or less - 480V/120V/48V/24V).
Work on machinery such as conveyor belt systems, Flexo (printing machines), dye cutters, fold/gluers machines, corrugators, boilers, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive), and gearboxes.
Use a range of hand and power tools, supplying your own basic hand tools with a provided tool stipend.
Read basic layout diagrams, common symbols, legends, and interpret title information.
Utilize basic machine shop tools (drill press, band saw, grinder, arbor, hand tools).
Perform basic preventive maintenance such as lubricating machinery, visual inspections, hydraulic PMs, changing/adding oil, changing filters, pneumatic PMs, and checking for leaks.
Understand zero energy states for various forms of energy and follow lockout procedures.
Use basic diagnostic tools such as voltmeters.
Differentiate between electrical and mechanical problems.
Pursue ongoing technical training to enhance capabilities.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Work any available shift and overtime as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Demonstrate good attendance and understand the use of proper PPE.
Essential Skills
4+ years of experience in successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
Electrical experience and willingness to perform both electrical and mechanical tasks.
Basic computer skills, including typing and email.
Time management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
A Technical Degree in the Mechanical or Electrical Trades is a plus.
Experience in the Corrugated Packaging or Printing Industry is a plus.
Ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting, robotics automation, and PLC control.
Certified in ARC flash protection.

Work Environment
This position is in a production manufacturing shop environment. Maintenance Technicians are placed on shifts according to plant needs and seniority, with opportunities to change shifts available when organizational changes occur or production schedules change.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $71115.20 - $79456.00/yr.

1.5 Pay over 8 hrs. and over 40
1.5 Pay Saturday and Sunday
1.5 Pay Holidays + additional OT over 8 hours on holidays
Uniforms Provided
PCA provides paid training to help technicians advance through the skill levels and achieve higher pay. ( Self driven development. They can do 2 hours a day of training to work towards next level. On avg 12-18 months they can move up a level.
