The IT Specialist reports to the IT Project Manager and is part of the SYSTECH ops team. Scope of work includes supporting, developing, and maintaining IT technologies for academic stakeholders. The individual in this position works closely with other members of the team to provide technology support for stakeholders via ticketing system and zoom room style help desk. This position leads help desk support for end user support. The position also takes ownership in developing resolutions and new solutions for OS management systems

Responsibilities

Lead help desk style support via Zoom, while ensuring stakeholders reach successful outcomes

Deliver advanced desktop support for Mac, Windows, and mobile clients

Prepare computer equipment via management systems ( JAMF / SCCM )

Develop Jamf and SCCM environments

Provide technical support for end users and stakeholders

Collaborate with technical groups to gain knowledge and find best solutions

Create processes, documentation, and training material

Monitor and troubleshoot general classroom and AV technology

Deploy IT equipment to stakeholders and users in supported locations

Process and document IT asset Inventory

Take ownership of issues and processes and see through to successful outcomes

Other projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialty.

Preferences

Strong IT Help Desk support and experience

Apple MDM or Jamf experience

SCCM or Windows Management experience

Advanced IT troubleshooting skills with in-depth knowledge of diagnosing OS and IT issues

Preference is given for a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalency.

Strong organizational and project management skills

Strong interpersonal communication and documentation skills

Experience with Active Directory

A+, Security+, Project+ or other industry recognized technical certificates are highly desired

Previous Service Desk or Help Desktop experience is preferred

Windows 10/11 and Mac OS desktop support experience is expected
