Job Summary

The Osher Center for Integrative Health seeks a Health Coach to assist in the implementation, and evaluation of individual wellness and health promotion programs. This Health Coach will provide health coaching for the U of U employee population.

Hybrid and fully remote candidates considers.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Delivers wellness services including health coaching, wellness presentations and programming direct to clients and patients.

• Demonstrates technological savvy with respect to online tracking, data collection, reporting and presentations.

• Serves as professional representative of OCIH to both internal and external clients and patients.

• Provide health coaching and behavior change consultation to clients and patients in the clinical setting working with a clinical team for improved patient care.

• Develops and helps the patient implement an individualized plan for health behavior, including nutrition, physical activity and sleep interventions.

• Participates in departmental staff meetings and communicates patient care and other issues to management.

Think critically to analyze issues and identify alternate courses of action

Minimum Qualifications

There are two levels in the Health Educator position.

Health Educator I: Candidate must have a BS in health promotion or related field or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Ability to demonstrate entry level competence in the 7 Areas of Responsibilities for Health Education or 10 Essential Functions of Public Health.

Health Educator II: Candidate must have a BS in health promotion or related field, and four or more years of health education experience or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Must also possess and maintain certification as a CHES , MCHES , or CPH . Ability to demonstrate working-level professional knowledge in the 7 Areas of Responsibilities for Health Education or 10 Essential Functions of Public Health.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills required.

Training in a specific health area may be preferred.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. • Master’s degree in a health related field or equivalency.

• One to three years of experience in health education or related area.

• Comfortable with integrative health coaching to support patients in making behavior change

• Possess and maintain certification as CHES , MCHES , or NBHWC
