possibly higher depending on qualifications.

Principal Duti es As a Groundskeeper II you will:

  • Mow, rake, water, and fertilize lawns.
  • Plant, transplant, water, fertilize, and trim flowers and shrubs.
  • Assist with general maintenance of sprinkler systems.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance of lawnmowers, snow blowers, and other small groundskeeping equipment.
  • May apply herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, and other chemical compounds.
  • Lead other groundskeepers in functional supervisory roles.
  • Remove snow.

The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion, such as digging, shoveling, planting, trimming, climbing, lifting heavy objects, crouching, or crawling.  

The Best Qualified Candidate The best qualified candidate for this position will have:

  • 3 years of experience in landscaping and grounds care.
  • 1 year of experience using pesticides/herbicides.
  • 1 year of experience with irrigation systems.
  • a Utah Pesticide Applicator's license. (If the selected applicant does not have this license, they will be expected to earn one within 6 months of hire.)

The Division The Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) is dedicated to providing professional services to assist State entities in meeting their facility needs for the benefit of the public, and is the building manager for all State owned facilities.
