State of Utah - Jobs Financial Analyst III - DFCM SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Are you interested in providing budget and fiscal information to maintenance and construction professionals?  Do you excel at payables, receivables, and reconciliations?  This *Financial Analyst *position could be the one for you!

This position may be filled as a Financial Analyst III or a Financial Analyst II, depending on the qualifications of the chosen candidate.

Financial Analyst III: $24.41 - $38.71

[Financial Analyst II: $21.87 - $34.72 Principal Duties As the Financial Analyst, you will:]{#isPasted}

  • Generate, process, and approve accounts payable and receivable.
  • Approve level 1 payment transactions.
  • Review and process weekly transfer logs.
  • Reconcile payment logs and statements.
  • Reconcile fixed assets.
  • Create and run budget reports.
  • Participate in year-end close-out process.

Minimum Qualifications The best qualified candidate will have:

  • 3 or more years of experience in accounts payable.
  • 3 or more years of experience in general accounting.
  • The ability to independently use data mining queries in programs such as Access.
  • The ability to independently use Excel formulas, pivot tables, and spreadsheets at a high level of skill.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in state or local government financial management, including familiarity with public-sector process and regulations. 
  • Proficiency with capital asset management software tools, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in asset tracking and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of governmental accounting standards and practices, particularly GASB principles, and their application in financial reporting.
