SALT LAKE COMMUNITY COLLEGE Economics, Adjunct Faculty in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Under general supervision, teach various economics classes to community college students. May be assigned to any SLCC location. Courses may include economic history, micro/macro economics, economic principles, international economics, labor economics, comparative economic systems, environmental economics, and money and banking.

  1. Effectively prepare and teach classes to facilitate student learning consistent with department, division, school, and college standards and expectations.
  2. Assess and maintain records of student performance.
  3. Distribute and adhere to current course outlines and/or syllabi.
  4. Attend required training and department meetings, as invited.
  5. Demonstrate and support professional commitment to Division, School, and College mission and values.
  6. Maintain a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues, and administration.
  7. Demonstrate depth of understanding in the economics discipline.
  8. Support College policies.
  9. Other job related duties as required.

  10. Become familiar with, and abide by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization.

  11. Maintain professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
  12. Provides appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments.
  13. Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards.
  14. Maintains student attendance records (for Financial Aid purposes) and grades.
  15. Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance. Informs students of progress to date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines.
  16. Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment.
  17. Follows and abides by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy.
  18. Handles/responds to student concerns/complaints and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 12 days).
  19. Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure.
  20. Completes all required employee trainings.
  21. Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines.
  22. Administer ADA accommodations as needed.
