EMCOR Group Driver in Salt Lake City, Utah

Position Description

  • Comfortable driving a flatbed, truck and trailer or box truck, and can do so safely.

  • Conducts a thorough pre-trip inspection of the equipment assigned as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the company.

  • Loading HVAC and other related materials for delivery to jobsites and other customer locations.

  • Assisting with unloading materials at construction job sites.

  • Must have a Utah DOT medical card or be able to obtain one.

  • Help maintain warehouse and yard.

  • Has the ability to understand and carry-out directions from leads and field supervisors.

  • Is mechanically adept and knows how to safely use tools and equipment.

  • Is professional in appearance and in manners.

  • Has good oral and written communication skills.

  • Can pre-plan small assignments.

  • Self-Starter

  • Can analyze assignments for correct tool, supply, and equipment requirements, as well as small parts and product pulls from warehouse.

  • Other assigned duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 21 or over.

  • Must have good driving record.

  • This position is full time Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.

  • Must be able to pass D.O.T. Physical and drug screen. Applicants will be drug tested prior to employment.

  • Communicates clearly and concisely.

  • Able to work effectively with other employees, supervisors, and external parties.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and systems.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required.

EDUCATION

  • Class A CDL or higher preferred, but not required.

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with DOT and an understanding of their regulations is required.

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in material handling required.

  • HVAC experience preferred but not required.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

  • Forklift Certification

  • Will be required to join union

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate required construction equipment including tools, ladders, forklift, etc. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate reports. Requires lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally. Work is performed at construction sites both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
