This position is in Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Regional Sales Manager – Mountain Southwest US (ID & UT) with the Diamond V ruminant and dairy business will, with guidance, sell directly to the consumer or business purchaser or indirectly through various sales channels. In this role, you will conduct face to face and remote sales with new and existing customers, assist in evaluating customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and solutions. This will be a home office role but needs to reside in Idaho or Utah. Up to 25% overnight travel is required to cover the area of responsibility.

Diamond V’s natural immune support postbiotic feed additives help optimize animal health, animal performance, and preharvest food safety. We provide expert, experienced, technical support to our customers to help keep their animals healthy and grow their businesses. Based on 80 years of research and development, Diamond V continues to explore and innovate in postbiotic and microbial fermentation science and technology.

Key Accountabilities

  • Help identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships.

  • With guidance conduct market research and pricing, sales, and merchandising activities.

  • Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.

  • Protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with targeted customers.

  • Support business growth by disseminating favorable information about the organization and its products and services.

  • Responsible for achieving sales goals and maintaining expense budget.

  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience.

  • Minimum of two years of related work experience in sales, business development or related field.

  • Experience with technical sales, able to provide technical support to dairy farms, nutritionist, and veterinarians.

  • Experience in the dairy industry or ruminant nutrition, animal nutrition.

  • Able and willing to travel up to 25% Overnight.

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the dairy or beef industry, ruminant nutrition, animal health, additives, supplements.

  • Bilingual: Spanish and English.
