The position is responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers and transportation companies and implementing materials management systems. Ensure materials are suitable for construction projects considering properties, costs, and timeframes.

General Purpose

The position is responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers and transportation companies and implementing materials management systems. Ensure materials are suitable for construction projects considering properties, costs, and timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers with the planning of the project materials and supply chain management for major project materials.

  • Provide skilled oversight of the process activities necessary to manage inventory and place into service quality company facilities within the company's financial and schedule guidelines.

  • Ensure security and accountability of inventory deliveries through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review.

  • Develop and execute replenishment strategies; conducts physical inventories and lead cycle counts.

  • Audit incoming and outgoing shipments to assure quality and accuracy.

  • Compile and document all transactions for data entry. Enter materials as received in RMP SAP/Oracle software.

  • Manage on site communications and direct site personnel in accordance with RMP safety policy.

  • Plan and organize delivery schedules at various locations.

  • Accurately identify load weight with offloading equipment limits prior to delivery.

  • Receive, issue and return material and equipment in storerooms and yards or other locations where material may be temporarily stored

  • Confirm received materials meet company standards and delivery expectations

  • Conduct monthly inventory edits of several materials storage yards

  • Verify stock numbers and voltage types and Equipment to job site

  • Comply with all city or county rules and regulations outlined in site permitting.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of five years of Construction Support and/or Material Logistics experience.

  • Field experience with heavy civil and/or vertical construction

  • Inventory management experience

  • Electrical knowledge of working clearances under energized power lines and near proximity to substations.

  • Leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence on project issues.

  • Knowledge of project life cycles.

  • Knowledge of stores and accounting procedures

  • Must keep accurate records of declared hazardous materials.

  • Must be available to receive calls during and after working hours including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, equipment specifications, equipment engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Demonstrated ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software; Inventory software; Email software and Database software (ex: MS Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).

  • Employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
