Overview: The Lowell Bennion Community Engagement Center at the University of Utah is a leader in community engagement and public service. The Bennion Center provides transformative community engagement experiences that make positive impacts on student development and community needs. We support student well-being and success for students as they discover their passion, people, and purpose through our co-curricular programs, initiatives, and events while educating students about their civic and social responsibilities. In 2020, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning classified the University of Utah as a Community Engaged Institution. Position Summary: The Student Services Manager supports the Bennion Centers strategic priorities through successful management, oversight, and promotion of U of U student involvement in co-curricular community engagement and student leadership. Responsibilities include mentoring and advising students on how to integrate community engagement into their academic experience; supporting community organizations as co-educational partners in student learning and community impact; and contributing to the vibrancy and success of the Bennion Center. The Community Partner Programs Manager is responsible for building and maintaining successful professional relationships with students, campus and community partners, and the Bennion Center staff. The Community Partner Programs Manager is part of a dynamic and interconnected team of staff and students, and reports directly to the Associate Director for Student Leadership and Development. The Community Partner Programs Manager is also expected to participate and engage as an active member of Bennion Center and campus-wide committees, task forces, and work groups as necessary and/or requested.The Student Services Manager must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
