Clinical Service Navigator

Are you licensed as a Psychologist,Clinical Social Worker,Marriage and Family Therapist,or Clinical Mental Health Counselor? Do you want to play a key role in ensuring Utah's youth are not only receiving quality care,but the correct level of care? Are you experienced in providing clinical guidance to other staff to connect youth to available services within their community? The Office of Coordinated Care & Regional Supports is looking for an experienced individual to fill their role of Clinical Service Navigator. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical guidance for the Department of Health and Human Services' (DHHS) staff in connecting youth to available services.
  • Represent the Office of Coordinated Care & Regional Supports (CCRS) in meetings relating to youth and their treatment needs.
  • Support the Families First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) Plan for the State of Utah through coordination of training,implementation and oversight of evidence based practices; PCIT,TF-CBT,DBT,FFT etc.  
  • Participate in reviews to ensure quality and fidelity of the clinical services delivered throughout the DHHS system.
  • Improve the service continuum by identifying gaps in services and coordinating with stakeholders to close gaps.
  • Work with private providers to keep youth from being removed prematurely from residential placement.
  • Approve or deny placements to ensure youth are receiving clinically indicated services.
  • Help the Independent Assessment team with reports when there is an influx of cases,time-off or emergencies; may carry a caseload of up to 4 cases.
  • Use both data and experience to drive decisions about service needs. 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Licensed as a Psychologist,Clinical Social Worker,Marriage and Family Therapist,Clinical Mental Health Counselor,or have other applicable licensure as a mental health professional
  • 3-5 years of experience working in the mental health field
  • Experience evaluating diagnostic information and making clinical decisions for placement based on assessed information
  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of treatment plans
  • Experience coordinating with other professionals to ensure clients are receiving the correct level of care
  • Clinical knowledge of adolescents who require residential-level of care
  • Knowledge of criteria for various clinical services; population served,specialties,dosage recommendations and gives clinical recommendations based on that criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of available services for individuals with mental health needs
  • Basic understanding about DHHS continuum of care
  • Basic understanding of the DHHS system of contracted providers and available treatment options for adolescents
  • Good time management and organizational skills

Health Insurance - Public Employee Health Program (PEHP):

  • 3 medical plan options. Choose a Traditional or High Deductible Health Plan. There is an Opt-Out Cash Benefit option for those that have other medical insurance coverage.

  • 5 dental plan options,with an Opt-Out Cash Benefit option for those that have other dental insurance coverage.

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):

  • Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.

  • Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System. 

    • Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))

    • Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.  

  • Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.

Paid Time Off:

  • Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual,4 hours sick).

  • Annual leave amounts increase with years of service. 

  • We have 12 paid holidays.
