About UtahPresents:

UtahPresents, a multi-disciplinary presenter at the University of Utah, brings diverse artistic and cultural experiences to campus and the region through performances and related programs. UtahPresents’ Ticket office, located in Kingsbury Hall, is responsible for ticketing and customer service operations for UtahPresents, as well as all events at Kingsbury Hall, Libby Gardner Hall, and Marriott Center for Dance.

Job Summary

The UtahPresents Box Office staff creates a welcoming environment for patrons in person, on the phone, and via email. Our staff will have a familiarity of all events, their content, and target audience. They disseminate accurate and helpful information to patrons regarding events, venue policies, seating and performance recommendations for the best patron experience. Our cashiers are responsible for counting a till at the beginning and end of their shifts, so attention to detail is a must. Box Office Cashiers are usually the first interaction our patrons have with UtahPresents and set the standard for the rest of their experience!

Responsibilities

Qualifications

1 year cashier experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are required. Basic mathematical skills and PC knowledge required. Bilingual skills are a plus.

This position will work some nights and weekends. This position is primarily seated but may work events or locations where standing for 2-3 hours is required. Must be able to lift 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

  1. Answer the phones and in person guests courteously and professionally. Provide accurate information, answer questions, process requests, and resolve problems.

  2. Be well informed and knowledgeable of all events.

  3. Independently respond to box office emails in an accurate and professional manner. Follow training and guidance on when to escalate to a supervisor.

  4. Make outgoing calls to patrons for marketing campaigns.

  5. Process payment transactions accurately and efficiently.

  6. Reconcile cash drawers.

  7. Open and close facilities at beginning and end of shifts.

  8. Maintain a clean and organized work area and office.

  9. May assist with special events and work remote box office locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Six months cashiering experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), basic mathematical skills, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Word processing and spreadsheet skills may be preferred for certain positions.
