University of Utah Assistant Professor (Clinical) in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah is seeking two pathologists with training in the diagnosis, teaching, and clinical research of pediatric pathology. The positions are needed to balance recent growth with the opening of a second hospital campus and retirements in this long-stable group. Candidates must be certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology or equivalent and be eligible for certification in Pediatric Pathology. Candidates must also be eligible for medical licensure in Utah. Salary and rank will be based on training and experience.The Division of Pediatric Pathology is based at Primary Childrens Hospital on the campus of the University of Utah. Operated by Intermountain Healthcare, Primary Childrens serves a 5-state area in the Intermountain West and includes the 332-bed Salt Lake City Campus hospital as well as the recently opened 66-bed Miller Campus hospital just south of the city. The Division currently includes 8 pediatric pathologists and has a fellowship training program. Opportunities and mentoring to develop specific areas of expertise (oncologic pathology, GI, neuropathology, perinatal/autopsy, laboratory/transfusion medicine) are available.The Department of Pathology has excellent clinical, research, and education programs; operates a national reference laboratory, ARUP Laboratories, and is integrated with the Huntsman Cancer Institute, which provide exceptional opportunities for research and education.
